The Boeing 787, with a capacity of 276 seats, ran for two Paris-Charles de Gaulle - Bordeaux return flights on 16 th and 17 th June. On board this aircraft, passengers benefitted from the best of Air France by enjoying the comfort of the brand-new travel cabins. In this way, the company increased seat capacity by 30% on these two round-trips. Due to the high number of passengers, Air France has also chartered two additional flights by Airbus A319 on 20 th and 21 st June 2017. At the fair, the area dedicated to VIP buyers has been renamed the Air France Vinexpo Club. World leaders in the sector receive special attention throughout the four days of Vinexpo Bordeaux. Meanwhile, at the show, Air France has announced new dishes for its business class by Michelin starred chef, François Adamski, and the company underlined its dedication to the promotion of France’s wine industry, with a reminder that Paolo Basso, Best Sommelier of the World in 2013, has devised Air France’s latest wine list, collaborating with Bettane & Desseauve, authors of the Grand Guide des Vins de France, for Business and La Première cabins • CHAMPAGNE: THE ONE- STOP SHOP For buyers looking for new references in Champagne, whether it be niche producers or broad scale suppliers, the Champagne Lounge is a “one stop shop” at Vinexpo. Conceived by Hervé Henrotte, via his company Winalia, the concept is one of a “federation” of Champagne producers of all kinds, allowing buyers to freely circulate through an openplan stand and taste products from nine different producers in a short space of time. Henrotte says the concept is simple: “We do not place direct competitors side by side, but more so houses that are complementary or have synergy. Buyers save time, because they get a global vision of the producers without having to go from stand to stand” • Hall 1, Stand A231 - Air France Vinexpo Club Hall 1, Stand DE197 4 VINEXPO DAILY / DAY 4 EDITION / WEDNESDAY 21 st JUNE 2017

Organic Cognacs at Maison Mery-Melrose Sulphite-free Bordeaux Maison Mery-Melrose is proud of its range of authentic organic Cognacs and wines, but stresses it does not follow sustainable practices out of some “dogmatic principal” but because it is the right, and “natural” way to produce them. Situated in the Grande Champagne Cru region of Cognac the house uses classic grape varieties like Ugni Blanc, but has also invested in growing and nurturing vineyards of Folle Blanche, Colombard and Montils varietals, which have disappeared from many Cognac properties. @kaogenous But it is the richness that you get from these grapes that Maison Mery-Melrose believes helps its Cognacs stand out from its competition. Its organic wines range relies on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet-Franc and Chardonnay grapes. Key products include Mery Melrose Organic VS Cognac Grande Fine Champagne AOC and Mery Melrose Organic VSOP Cognac Grande Fine Champagne AOC • Hall 3, Stand W340 The new WORLD sulphite free OF range ORGANIC of wines WINES from organic producer Bordeaux Vineam is very much in keeping with the overall organic theme at this year’s Vinexpo. Bordeaux Vineam, which includes six château covering 240 hectares across the Acquitaine region of Bordeaux, has been fully committed to not using any synthetic chemicals, herbicides and GMOs since 2011. Which means it is bringing organic winemaking to the left bank estates of Moulis and Sauternes, and the right bank estate of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. Its new sulphite-free range, Parole de Terroir, covers six wines from the 2015 and 2016 vintages. They are carefully bottled to ensure no oxygen is included and are as natural as possible. Bordeaux Vineam’s viticultural team works hard to plant hedgerows and honeyproducing plants and build beehives across its vineyards to create the right micro climate to attract insects and other microbes that help create natural and organic wines and prevent diseases • Hall 3, Stand W340 VINEXPO DAILY / DAY 4 EDITION / WEDNESDAY 21 st JUNE 2017 5
